Various industrial robots such as robotic arms, collaborative robots, mobile robots, and composite robots are gradually becoming standard equipment for smart factories. Machine ring arms replace manual labor to complete most of the production automation processes, greatly improving production efficiency and productivity, while composite robots achieve automatic docking and circulation of logistics in various links, truly realizing unmanned production.


Composite robot is a type of robot that integrates AGV mobile robot and general industrial machine functions for human control. In the industrial field, industrial robotic arms are generally referred to as robotic arms or robotic hands, mainly replacing the grasping function of human arms. AGV mobile robots replace the walking function of human legs and feet, while composite robots combine these two functions with both hands and feet.


Since the outbreak of the epidemic, the application of composite robots has been increasingly valued. On the front line of epidemic prevention, machine guards are responsible for auxiliary medical care, delivery of food and medicine, temperature measurement and disinfection, and other tasks. Improved efficiency and reduced the possibility of cross infection. In the recent resumption of production, enterprises with high levels of automation and intelligence have been less affected by the "labor shortage", and the value of industrial machinery in industrial manufacturing, logistics and distribution, catering and retail, security patrols, rehabilitation and other fields has been further highlighted. For traditional industrial machines, the fixed position of the body limits the operating range, and the size of the arm span also restricts the movement radius. Many companies have begun to try to assemble machine ring arms and mobile machine ring robots into "composite robots" that can handle more work processes, with the intention that the workplace of machine ring arms is no longer restricted and can reach places that were previously inaccessible, in order to meet the requirements of flexible production of workshop automation equipment. Composite robot is a new type of robot that has both hand and foot functions. In the past, in the robotics industry, general industrial robots were called robotic arms. Intelligent mobile devices are used to replace human legs and feet in moving and controlling direction. Composite robots combine the advantages of both, with both hands and feet, combining the two functions together.


However, traditional industrial robots have bulky bodies, heavy loads on autonomous mobile robots, stiff legs, and low safety, making them unsuitable as "hands" for composite robots. Therefore, we have come up with the idea of using collaborative robots to replace industrial robots with human arms as this "hand".


Compared with traditional industrial robots, composite robots have much smaller loads, but are cheaper and easier to use. More importantly, they have strong adaptability, flexibility, and high security. Compared with industrial robots that have been developed for decades, composite robots can directly cooperate with workers on the production site, ensuring safety, improving automation and work efficiency. At present, many well-known composite robot brands have emerged both domestically and internationally.
