The so-called collaborative robot is actually a type of robot that can work in a shared space with humans and interact closely with them. In short, it means being able to work together with humans. Collaborative robots are mainly composed of robot body, hollow torque motor, harmonic reducer, servo driver, and controller.

At present, the application of collaborative robots in the domestic market is mainly concentrated in industries such as 3C electronics, automobiles and their components, and household appliances. In addition to the industrial field, collaborative robots also have great development prospects in the commercial service sector. This includes currently popular logistics warehousing and medical services. One of the picking methods in the logistics and warehousing field is the use of AGVs equipped with cooperative robots, and the market for logistics and warehousing will be immeasurable. In addition, due to the relative safety of collaborative robots and the fact that their robotic arms mimic the flexibility of human arms, they are highly suitable for applications in fields such as rehabilitation robots and medical care robots. In the short term, the industrial sector remains the main application market for collaborative robots, but competition will become increasingly fierce. In the long run, the service sector has the opportunity to become a new blue ocean for applications.

Collaborative robots equipped with AGVs form composite robots: By combining collaborative robots with AGV cars, collaborative robots are no longer limited to a certain unit, area, or job, but are elevated to "free robots" in production line teams. They can not only transport and schedule between various processes, but also allocate robots to any workstation to participate in production or cooperate with operators in specific safety areas according to the needs of production expansion.

Collaborative robots are equipped with various flexible claws to complete more tasks: Compared with traditional robots, the main feature of collaborative robots is flexibility. In order to further improve the flexibility of collaborative robots, more and more flexible grippers will be applied in applications, and these end effectors will become the core components of robot applications. After assembling the end effector, collaborative robots can better achieve some new functions. Under this development trend, domestic and foreign enterprises are increasingly emphasizing the function of collaborative robots to quickly replace fixtures. Robots can automatically replace and recognize any tool or gripper, and operators can edit the robot's motion path and all docked fixtures or grippers by dragging them all at once, without the need for handheld teaching devices, thus achieving manual editing.

As a new type of industrial robot, collaborative robots are still in the process of iterative upgrading. At the same time, the functions and technical parameters of collaborative robots have not been fully finalized and still cannot meet the practical needs of some special application scenarios. Therefore, in future market competition, deepening application segmentation and production processes, comprehensively polishing the combination of product functions and application processes, and forming replicable process packages will be the way for cooperative robot enterprises to make significant progress.
